September storytime

Well September started out just great. We have had about 60 storytime moms and kids. Some are new faces and some are old. For the week of September 18th we had a total of nine storytimes. We had four visits from CDS and two from the Riverton Methodist School besides our regular Wednesday group. We made our first visit to Headstart that week and had a total of 40 children. We finished up the month with a visit from Maggie Vianni from Wyoming Public Television. She came and did a great program for our Moms and kids. First she had a 15 minute presentation for our moms. Then we all got together and made bookmarks and streamers. It was a lot of fun. We are now gearing up for a busy October. Come in and pick up a calendar.

Manito

The Riverton Branch Library is showing "Manito" a film by Eric Eason. Showing Friday September 8th at 7PM in the Riverton Community Room.

Fifteen years ago, their Washington Heights neighborhood was dubbed the crack-cocaine capital of the world, but today it is transforming into one of the most vibrant, Spanish-speaking communities in the United States. While the drug dealers continue to disappear, their violent legacy still casts a shadow over the neighborhood and its residents. Junior, an ex-convict struggling to get his life back on track, is a product of this legacy. His younger brother Manny, the salutatorian of his high school class, embodies the hope of the future. On the night of his graduation party, Manny finds himself faced with an ill-fated decision that could change his life forever.
