A Day in the Park

The annual Riverton Day in the Park had a fresh face this year. Staff from the Riverton Library in conjunction with Mary Wendell of Library Improvements For Tomorrow hosted a public outreach booth right next to the music stage and the climbing wall. We had a lot of foot traffic and it was a great event for the library as we were able to show off our services and provide information about upcoming events such as our Independent Film Series, Teen Writing Contest, and Drum Building Workshop. (Wish I had a photo to show you, but I was too busy to think about pictures.)
Riverton staff combined efforts to sponsor a book drawing for adults, teens, and children. We had 237 entries and several more people danced the day away on our rocking Dance Dance Revolution game. Surprisingly many people didn't know that we offered children's programs or had a teen area and we have already seen new faces in the library that had visited our booth at the park. We look forward to making this a yearly event.
This event would not have been possible without Mary Wendell's hard work and gracious efforts---Thanks Mary!
