Our 2007 Summer Reading Program "Get a clue at your library" is in full swing. We have about 290 kids signed up and reading. Our guest for the first program was Detective Murphy from the Riverton Police Department. He gave the children a talk and demonstration on finger printing. Everyone was very quiet and enjoyed his presentation.
Then we all got together to solve the mystery of the bulletin boards.
Holly, one of the librarians here at the Riverton Branch, brought her ferrets for our second program. She had the kids sit in a circle and her little ferrets just went from person to person being very gentle.
We set up a table with items and had the families take a look and try to memorize what was there. Then we covered it up and let them write down what they remembered. The children also made their own memory game.
Next week we will have spy centers and each of the children will have a chance to fingerprint, decipher, disguise, and discover. It will be great fun!
