the things staff have to do

It’s the middle of a nice day at the library. When a man “calmly” walks up to the circ desk and tells myself and the other librarian that the men’s bathroom sink is leaking. So I walk at a normal speed to the men’s bathroom thinking the sink was dripping underneath it. When I walked in it was spraying like Old Faithful. I run to stop the water and yell for the other librarian. We noticed a screw on the counter and try and put it back in. The screw didn’t go all the way in and the water blows it out of the other librarian hands and onto the floor. As the other librarian tries to find the screw I’m trying to make the water fall back into the sink. As I do this the water goes through my finger and hits the other librarian in the face. She got so soaked; finally the maintenance guys get there and turn off the water from underneath. I look back now and that was my funniest day at work, I love the library!

staff story

Some teens were out in the parking lot hanging out. An average size boy goes to sit on a friend’s car. So he jumps up landing on the trunk of the car with his bottom. Just when he lands the back window of the car blows out, glass is flying everywhere. The girl owning the car calls her parents and the parents aren’t mad at all. When the librarians ask why the parents aren’t mad. She calmly responded “it’s happened before with my brothers.” None of the librarians could resist laughing.

Dance at the library

As a teen I know it’s fun to go dancing with your friends, but I also know how hard it is to find a place to go. The schools only have a few dances a year and were to young to go to a club. Well the Riverton branch library is trying to fix that.
On April 2, 2006 come join us for a pizza party and a PS2 Dance Dance Revolution Extreme contest. Starting a 3:30 on the Mezzanine, at the Riverton branch library. So bring your appetite, your friends, and your dancing feet.
Prizes will be given away and you get to laugh as the librarians try it. What more could you ask for?
